Each year, National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (NLPPW) is a call to bring together individuals, organizations, industry, and tribal, state and local governments to raise awareness of lead poisoning prevention and reduce childhood exposure to lead. Lead is particularly dangerous to children because their growing bodies absorb more lead and are more sensitive to lead effects. Children can also be more exposed to lead because they put their hands and other objects that may have lead into their mouths. However, the good news is that childhood lead exposure is 100% preventable. Check out and register for one of the following events to learn more about this important public health issue. To see if there are local lead education and training sessions in your community, please visit this link or see below for one of the national events!
